Valter Pontes has taken England by the storm and is disrupting the standards of rental accommodation in the United Kingdom and abroad.
This young entrepreneur was sitting in his university accommodation when a question wandered in his mind. “Could I own one of these one day? But instead of cramped small rooms with no light, there would be services, airy and bright beautifully designed rooms where people would be proud to live and bring friends around?”
Originally from Portugal, Valter Pontes was a model in Elite Model, one of the biggest model agencies in the world.
He moved to England to study English and graduate from University.
“I’ve always been goal-oriented, I believe human beings have the capacity to change and reach any goal they set themselves, if they work hard enough for it.”
His first year at university was not what he expected. Valter had questions that he needed answers to. So, he decided to embark on a journey of his own.
He went on a gap year from university and started studying business and real estate.
In a year he read 360 books and there was no turning back for him.
“You set yourself a goal, work as hard as you can, evaluate the steps on the way and listen to feedback, but you never lose the sight of your goal” this passionate, and fiery young entrepreneur says.
In his first year of investing in property, he won several awards and he was nominated as the New Property Investor of the Year by the Property Investors Awards, one of the biggest nominations in the United Kingdom.
In the UK, his investment portfolio is divided into the North of England and London.
“In the UK I focus on the big cities and I am returning to Portugal now as well, we are already in Lisbon and Porto is one of our next focus points”
His goal is to make luxury the new normal and to bring affordable luxury accommodation so that people can be proud of calling the place they live, their home.
Valter’s goals do not end in the Real Estate industry, he is a multifaceted reader and very interested in a broad range of subjects. He reads around 16 different categories.
“I would consider myself a lifelong learner, I do not believe there will ever be a time when one knows enough. In the future I see myself being involved with natural energy and creating infrastructure for countries.”
After Valter started sharing his story on stages on how he changed his life, people started approaching him for mentorship and consulting.
Now he is not only an entrepreneur and an investor but a consultant and a public speaker and he continues to share his story about how he changed his life.
“I believe if I can do it, anyone can do it too.” he says.
There’s a quote that he says he lives by and it’s from Charlie Munger “The greatest thing one can do to a human being is to help them know more.”
